Band Bio
The band came into existence over six years ago. However, after personnel changes the present lineup was agreed by Pat Kennedy who originally put the band together. Pat had been playing around Scotland with different bands for a number of years and was in the house band of the Queen Mary. He was joined by Henry Wright at the very beginning of the Moonshine Mojo who has been around even longer than Pat, playing in the house band on Noah’s Ark. He has played in many parts of the world before returning to Scotland a number of years ago. Between the two of them, they clock up a number of years in the music business and add a lot of experience to the band.
He was next joined by Chris Tunney the youngest member of the band and is the go-to guy if the band needs Brass, Bagpipes or any other sound that is required, which he seems to be able to conjure up without any bother. He joined virtually at the beginning and as this was his first band, he certainly needed to settle in quickly which he did, adding a broader sound to the overall texture of the band.
Next to join was Dougie J Hanning our resident thespian who is more recognizable for his parts in Victoria and Outlander. He is an experienced bass player having played throughout Scotland with various bands. He has previously played in a band with Dougie Vipond from Deacon Blue and his style is relaxed but driving as can be heard from the recordings on the front page.
Lastly to join was Rab Macaulay who was enticed out of retirement to finalize the present lineup which is now very settled. Again he has a lot of experience and was happy to join what is now a very solid outfit which has been playing together for well over a year around the West of Scotland, Edinburgh and even as far as Perth. So far the band has regular dates at The Ferry, The Scotia, The Clutha and a number of local pubs and clubs around Glasgow.
We play a hard edge Blues, R&B and Rock featuring numbers by Free, Steve Earle, Clapton, Georgia Satellites, Black Keys and Rod Stewart.
Update, September 2019: As Chris decided it was time to explore pastures new, keyboard duties were handed over to Derek Hemphill. Derek has been playing in bands since his high school days back in the 90’s and has been recoding and playing live in various line ups over the years.
